So I am getting closer and closer to being done with my schooling and I need some insight for my wonderful friends and family. I see that a few of my friends that have their own businesses will have a separate facebook and/or blog for their business. Is it helpful or just a pain? And how do you get the word out? Just by word of mouth from friends at first I'm assuming?
Just needing a little help. Anything you've got would be great! Thanks guys!!!

Ashley! I am so excited for you! I have a separate blog & i don't think it's a pain! I think it's really helpful & i highly recommend it! It's nice because i can refer people to look @ my business blog & they don't have to get a run down of my personal life as well! It's kept totally separate & professional! Also i'm sure you'll have lots of pictures to post to show-case work & what not-so it's nice to have a professional blog to do that:) That's just my opinion but i'd say go for it! once you've got it all setup it's not much work at all:) ALSO i got the word out by posting the link over & over on my facebook wall! & i still do it whenever i put up a new post! i hope that helps:)
